Rivera city, with 95.891 residents has a urban plant in expansion. There are a lots of growing oportunities and a urban policy development has started. This situation is mainly due to the fact is a more and more intense tendency to urbanization.
Rivera in Uruguay and Santana do Livramento in Brazil are a unic and amazing conglomerate. Only an imaginary line is the boundary between the two countries. It was call " La frontera de la Paz" and it is an important characteristic of the city.

This avenue is the more importat street of Rivera´s city. It´s a Shopping zone and very interesting for tourists.

It is a popular celebration, it start of 1st of December and during the month there are lots of artistic shows.
The artists works all the years in groups to design Sarandí Avenue with brigth colours

The inmaculada concepcion church
The inmaculada concepcion church was built in 1889 and was finished in 1891.
The clock was brought from Montevideo and inaugurated in the christmas of 1939.
This church is located in Moseñor Jacinto Vera between Sarandpi and Agraciada streets.

Artigas Square
It is the city ´s main square. In addition it is an important setting of the history of the city.
The stretts surroundings are : Sarandí, Gral Artigas , Monseñor Vera and Agraciada.
This square has a large green space, where you can find trees and birds of various species, the flora is the same as in squares and parks in other cities.
Its green spaces are designed with deciduous trees from the northern hemisphere.
